Little Leaves

Every day at Little Leaves Preschool is thoughtfully balanced with routine, play and discovery. Our familiar rhythm helps children feel secure and confident, while giving them the freedom to explore, create and grow.

Here is what a typical day looks like.
Welcome Time
Our morning session begins at 9:00am and our afternoon session at 12:00pm, with children welcomed through the side gate.

We encourage parents to say a positive goodbye and let their child’s key person know they are leaving. If a child feels unsettled, their key person, or a familiar buddy, stays close until they feel safe and ready to explore.
Free Flow Play
Children enjoy free flow access to both indoor and outdoor areas throughout the session. Whether building, painting, digging, role playing or exploring the garden, children choose their learning through play.

Even in cooler or wet weather, we use our outdoor space, so suitable clothing is always important.​
Tidy Up & Circle Time
At 9:45am, and again at 2:45pm, we come together for tidy up time. This helps children develop responsibility and teamwork.

We then gather for circle time. In the morning, we share our Good Morning song, talk about the days of the week, the weather and our Golden Rules. Before home time, we enjoy stories, nursery rhymes and songs together.
Snack Time
At 10:00am we offer a healthy snack with milk or water. Snack time supports independence, social skills and healthy habits.

We kindly ask that children have breakfast before attending.
If they have not eaten, please let a member of staff know so we can support them.
Lunch Together
At around 12:30pm, children sit together with staff to enjoy their packed lunches.
Mealtimes are calm, social moments where children practise independence and conversation skills.

Children attending all day or the afternoon session will need to bring a healthy packed lunch.
Home Time
Before the end of each session, we gather for a final tidy up and circle time to reflect and finish our day together.
​
The side gate opens at 12:00pm for morning collection and afternoon drop-off, and at 3:00pm for end of day collection.
